Jack, thank you for these questions. With regards to CEDA, yes, the methodology and data have been peer-reviewed and are undergoing regular updates to reflect the changes in production. You can find more info in this slide deck.
Also, the synergies between the process-based LCA and IO LCA is something we think about a lot (in the context of both LCA and GHG accounting) and the webinar will definitely touch upon that. We currently use CEDA (IO-LCA) for the high-level estimates of Scope 3, which can later be drilled into through product-level LCA. In particular, applying the IO-LCA data can be relevant for capital goods (category 2) of Scope 3 and we also sometimes use it to inform process-based LCA. In that case, I do think that the fundamentals of ecoinvent and CEDA are the same—cradle-to-gate emissions not including use phase and EOL emissions, which need to be accounted for separately. So I think that both methods have their own place in the LCA ecosystem and it is important to choose the right method for your given context.
