On June 30, 2020 the [OpenAir Collective](https://openaircollective.cc/) and Hastings-on-Hudson Mayor Nicola Armacost hosted a webinar on decarbonizing concrete through local government action. [You can watch a recording of the webinar here.](https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=A8uDAMHY0WA)

OpenAir Collective’s co-founder, Chris Neidl gave a comprehensive, succinct and informative presentation on “Why Low Carbon Concrete Matters to Climate” and “Why Local Governments Matter to Low Carbon Concrete”. [You can view a copy of the presentation here.](https://docs.google.com/presentation/d/1LbzBHmO1r2IIdTBjKF3C8gEV_nYG7LLJWUq1wGpK9Sg/edit#slide=id.p)

Following the presentation was a panel discussion with Mayor Armacost and members of the Hastings Board of Trustees and Climate Smart Communities Task Force. The discussion centered around the development of the [Hastings Low Carbon Concrete Resolution](https://www.hastingsgov.org/sites/hastingsonhudsonny/files/uploads/20_green_concrete.pdf), the types of policies a resolution like this can inspire, and how the resolution is already leading to specific next steps in Hastings.

After the discussion there was an engaging Q&A session with the panelists fielding a variety of questions from the audience. As often happens, there were a number of questions that the panel was unable to answer during the webinar. To ensure that attendees receive complete and informed answers to their queries, the OpenAir Collective has created a forum to field any and all questions, comments, and ideas that were inspired by the webinar.
