Join me at the Cary Institute of Ecosystem Studies in Millbrook, NY for an eye-opening presentation at 9am—a realistic look at how to minimize Embodied Carbon and significant issues using EPDs and LCAs. This will be followed by hands-on presentations about Passive House and Net-zero adaptive re-use techniques.
Other speakers include Ken Levenson, Executive Director of the Passive House Network; Christina Griffin, AIA, LEED AP APB+C, CPHC, Principal of CGA Studio; Bruce Becker, FAIA; Dr. Sharon Sutton, FAIA, Distinguished visiting professor of Architecture, Parsons School of Design; and Illya Azaroff, FAIA, National AIA President Elect 2025.
This is an All-Day Symposium hosted by the AIA Westchester Hudson Valley Committee on the Environment. 6 AIA HSW, Phius, PDH Continuing Education Units are available.
@BillCaplan Just caught this; sorry but missed the presentation. Is a copy available or recorded for those who couldn’t make it? Working with EPDs quite a lot and familiar with some of the associated challenges.
Guy, the October 7th presentation was recorded, however, it will be a while before it is available online. Much of the discussion regarding EPD and LCA issues, and effectively reducing Embodied Carbon were contained in my Keynote address at the AIA Los Angeles Climate Symposium in April. A complete video of that address is available on YouTube at https://youtu.be/f7HVPG4vXqA .
