Impact of specifying concrete at 56 or 90 days instead of 28 days? Looking for case studies or papers quantifying GWP reductions

Hi CLF community.

I understand how extending the date of acceptance of concrete strength can help reduce the GWP of concrete mixes. But I would like to be able to refer to a paper or a case study that quantified the actual impact in terms of GWP.

This article hints at an average reduction of 10 kgCO2/m3. But obviously it depends on the type of mix and application where it was used. Can anyone point me to anything more specific?

Thanks
Lucile

Hey Lucile,
As you already pointed out, the most accurate way of approaching this is comparing the carbon footprint of the concrete mix with the 56/60-day strength requirement to that achieving the original 28-day strength.
