I’m interested in learning how others are writing embodied carbon specifications for structural engineering standards. Do you have any resources to suggest?
There is always the model specification language that was developed by Carbon Leadership Forum sponsors developed several years ago…focused on declaring data via EPDs. I know some others have started putting in language about caps and incentives.
For the CLF’s Buy Clean Washington Study*, we proposed a single spec section to clarify reporting requirements for structural material quantities and EPDs (see Appendix B). I’m not sure if this has been used yet. We’d welcome feedback! Ideally the reporting can get standardized such that it can be digitally uploaded to a central database.
Others? What have you tried? Have suggestions to share?
