This new Primer includes recommended policy action to regulate and reduce the embodied carbon of new construction. The recommendations are based on the first comprehensive benchmarking of whole building embodied carbon in Ontario. The Primer recommends embodied carbon intensity caps on new construction, which reduce over time to half by 2030. There is a lot of useful information in the Primer. If you’re thinking of managing embodied carbon, it’s worth a read!
