Exciting news: The City of Portland Bureau of Planning and Sustainability (BPS) climate team is recruiting for FOUR Climate Analyst II positions that will help us meet our ambitious climate goals. We are looking for talented and enthusiastic individuals who are ready to be a part of Portland’s cutting edge climate action. All four positions are limited duration for either 1 or 2 years. We will be hosting optional info sessions at [12 pm on Friday 9/2] and [5:30 pm on Wednesday 9/7]. Attendees should register in advance using the links in the job announcement.
- Embodied Carbon Analyst (1 year position): This position will analyze and evaluate a suite of policies for reducing carbon emissions from the manufacture, transport, installation, and disposal of building materials.
- Internal Cost of Carbon Analyst (1 year position): This position will support and accelerate implementation of the Internal Cost of Carbon policy (ENN-5.11), equipping decision-makers with lifecycle carbon analysis and shadow price of various project alternatives.
- General Decarbonization Analyst (1 year position): The person in this role will support the climate team with decarbonization research, data gathering, and policy efforts in built environment, energy supply systems, transportation, fuels, industry, and materials.
- Electricity Grid Analyst (2 year position): This position will implement the Climate Emergency Declaration’s directive for Portland’s electricity use to be 100% clean and renewable by 2030.
