TK Elevator is currently seeking an experienced Product Sustainability Lead in Atlanta, GA

The Product Sustainability Lead is responsible for managing our scope 3 downstream carbon emissions declarations and certifications. This role will be responsible for conducting life cycle analysis and publishing Environmental Product Declarations (EPDs) for all main product lines, and moving them to a digital platform as requested by our customers. This position will also integrate with product strategy and engineering to provide feedback through product development to ensure the lowest reasonable embodied/operational carbon per product.

The Product Sustainability Lead will also manage documentation of material transparency certificates such as Health Product Declarations, Declare labels, etc., as deemed necessary by customer research.

This position will also train sales personnel and other internal customers along with external customers, such as architects and general contractors, on how our product sustainability initiatives apply to LEED and other green building rating systems. Additionally, this role is expected to keep up with developments in the green building sector to be prepared to address future business needs.

Essential duties and responsibilities:

  • Lead sustainable product certifications through engineering process to accommodate customer demands
  • Manage Scope 3 (downstream) demands from customers which can include energy requirements for products, embodied carbon declarations and low-carbon sourcing in supply chain for lower embodied carbon products
  • Develop with engineering Life Cycle Assessments to publish Environmental Product Declarations (EPDs) for all major product lines
  • Represent North American business unit on global life cycle analysis product discussions
  • Provide feedback and train engineers on how to lower embodied carbon in elevators
  • Embed EPDs in a digital platform and work on industry benchmarking for elevator EPDs
  • Develop material transparency certificates like Health Product Declarations, Declare labels, Cradle to Cradle certificates as deemed appropriate
  • Respond to customer requests regarding compliance with LEED certification
  • Integrate sustainability fully into product development roadmaps and planning efforts through engineering for industry leadership
  • Identify and prioritize opportunities for sustainability efforts and recommend strategies for proactively addressing relevant sustainability issues
  • Effectively train sales reps on sustainability. LEED. embodied carbon
