Public comment on EPA low embodied carbon label

Today, EPA announced an opportunity for the public to provide input on a draft approach for a new label program for low embodied carbon construction materials and products that aims to help reduce climate pollution.

The draft approach proposes to standardize and improve information on a product’s environmental impact, and then use that information to set the amount of embodied carbon that can be in a product certified by EPA. The final phase of the draft approach is for the program to certify products and create a registry for easier procurement. The comment period is open for 30 days.
