Take part in the LETI Consultation on the development of an Embodied Carbon one pager and a Whole Life Carbon one pager - deadline extended
In 2019 LETI developed a Net Zero Operational carbon one pager establishing industry consensus on the key features and definition of Net Zero Operational Carbon new buildings.
There is a legal requirement upon the UK to reduce carbon emissions to zero by 2050 and many local authorities have declared Climate Emergencies and set zero carbon 2030 targets. LETI believe that understanding the Whole Life Carbon (WLC) emissions of a project over its lifetime is essential in getting us to zero carbon emissions. Given that WLC is comprised of both Operational carbon released through the use of energy and Embodied Carbon we decided we needed a suite of 3 One Pagers.
In December the LETI Whole Life Carbon Working Group have produced two draft One Pagers covering Embodied Carbon and Whole Life Carbon.

We are reaching out to the LETI network and wider industry to consult on these documents.
As part of the consultation we are asking important questions such as;
-
The format and content of the one pagers
-
How the industry should define net zero Embodied Carbon
-
How the industry should define net zero Whole Life Carbon
-
How do we set targets relevant to Whole Life Carbon

More details on consultation
The information has been put together to make the topics accessible to a wider audience including designers and client bodies. This survey is being circulated to gain opinion on the content developed ahead of an expected release date in 2021. It is a technical survey, an understanding of embodied and whole life carbon is required and we estimate it will take 20-30 minutes to complete. Thank you for your time. Answers will be treated confidentially. The consultation has been extended and now closes on the 22nd of January.
