I would be so thankful if anyone who worked with both the Tally and EC3 tools could please let me know what the “EC3 export” button in Tally does.
Any help is appreciated in advance!

It exports the Tally model (Revit quantities + any Tally material assignments) to the EC3 Tool. You end up with an EC3 model that has all quantity takeoffs and some/most of the Tally material assignments defined. You can then assign specific EPDs to the EC3 model and see how much variability there actually is for each material type by looking at products from different manufacturers.
