Workflow Advice for Using Tally with Revit 2025?

Hi everyone,

We’re running into an issue trying to use Tally for LCA on a project developed in Revit 2025. Since Tally is only compatible with Revit 2024 and earlier, we tried downgrading the model to 2024, but in doing so, we’re seeing a significant loss of assembly data—especially material layer information, which is critical for accurate LCA results in Tally.

Before we commit to manually rebuilding portions of the model, I wanted to ask:

  1. Has anyone found a reliable workaround for using Tally with Revit 2025 models?
  2. Is there a method to preserve material layer data during the downgrade process?
  3. Has anyone heard updates on Tally 2.0 and whether it might address this compatibility issue?

Thanks in advance!
Maggie

I was at the SE2050 Conference in Boulder last week and heard Don Davies with Built Transparency speak about their tools. He hinted at the release of Tally compatibility with Revit 25/26 in the near future.
