As embodied carbon emerges as a key solution to mitigating climate change, operational energy seems to get left behind. Those of us in the trenches of climate action may see it as passe–that box is already checked. And yes, although we know what needs to be done to improve operational carbon, it’s not a common part of architectural practice.
