You’re invited to join us for Washington Conservation Action’s (formerly Washington Environmental Council) 7th annual Carbon Friendly Forestry Conference, starting next Wednesday, November 1st!
The conference seeks to promote dialogue and learning about management of west coast forests in a time of climate and biodiversity crisis. We always include building with wood as part of the conference.
Each of the three (virtual) days of the conference will have a different theme: small forest landowners and carbon offset markets; forests and carbon science for management; and climate-smart wood supply chains.
The day on climate-smart wood supply chains (November 15th) will feature the first public presentation about a new 5 year collaboration to build climate-smart wood supply chains in the PNW, a presentation by Yakama Nation about their forest product supply chains, a presentation by Microsoft focused on a specific project, and a USGBC presentation on their new report about embodied carbon.
The conference is virtual, so attendees can join from anywhere. It’ll be held over Zoom the first three Wednesday afternoons in November: November 1st, November 8th, November 15th, followed by an in-person happy hour in Seattle on November 16th. I hope to see many of you there!
